Biography

Carol Phalen Swiggett has been interested and involved in art since early childhood.  She has designed and completed many works in crewl embroidery including a complete set of bed hangings, several document boxes and draperies as well as designs for hooked rugs.  While living in New York she was involved in a partnership with nine friends who owned a gallery in Cold Spring Harbor, L. I., selling arts and crafts.

Carol is an artist and printmaker who works mainly in watercolor and acrylic.  Her work has appeared in Watercolor Magazine, The New York Times, The Garden Club of America Bulletin, The Nature Conservancy, and "Painting with Watercolors", by Jacqueline Penney.  Her work has been shown in New York at C.W. Post College, The Cold Spring Harbor Library, Molloy College, in Boston, Mass. at The Yamawaki Gallery, and at The Tubac Center of the Arts in Arizona where she was awarded First Prize in a juried show.  She is currently represented by Rogoway Turquoise Tortoise Gallery in Tubac, Arizona
