Carol grew up on Long Island, New York, and spent her summers sailing on the East Coast and on their Island off the coast of Maine.  She and her husband, Jim, visited the Southwest 25 years ago and became permanent residents of  Tubac, Az. over 20 years ago.  Carol has a passion for creating what she loves.  When painting, "I feel I am engaging the mind while inspiring the spirit".

"Painting causes you to make a mental shift which enables you to see an ordinary thing as extraordinary " she explains.  When the ego drops away, that is when the magic begins and objects become  sheer miracles.  As to drawing, Albrecht Durer said, "from this, the treasure secretly gathered in your heart will become evident through your creative work".  It is really a state of being at one with the object, says Carol, and what comes out comes from inside the artist.

Carol's abstract landscapes are a deliberate departure from representation.  She uses her skills in the arrangement of line, color, form and space to create an emotional response in the viewer.

She loves meeting the people who buy her work, and feels a special bond with them.
